RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CHILEAN SPECIAL JOURNEYS Professor David Aronofsky, University of Montana, 2008 George P. Tsetsekosm, Dean, LeBow College of Business, July 2007 Robert Carr, Global Interdependence Center, April 2007 Paula Siewert, Northwest Lumber Association, December 2004 Special kudos to Scott and Claudia at Chilean Special Journeys for their terrific work in helping put together much of our recent University of Montana course trip itinerary which took us all over central and southern Chile. Everything they did for us happened exactly as planned. I have been involved professionally with Chile for well over 30 years and know Chile travel well. That said, I learned quite a bit collaborating with Chile Special Journeys to make our experience unforgettably great in all respects. Professor David Aronofsky July 18, 2007 To Whom It May Concern: This past March, I had an opportunity to visit Santiago, Chile as a member of a delegation for the Global Interdependence Center. Through the tireless efforts of Mr. Scott Jones, our trip, without question, was a wonderful experience. Not having traveled to Chile, I had many questions and concerns. Scott’s expertise, excellent communication and organizations skills were quite evident and put my mind at ease allowing me to concentrate on the team mission and not worry about travel concerns or details. Scott went above and beyond his role in every way; and, as an experienced traveler, I can easily identify first hand a seasoned professional. In my opinion, Scott Jones is just that and I will continue to use his services and provide recommendations. Sincerely, George P. Tsetsekos, Ph.D. Robert Carr April 9, 2007 Dear Mr. Jones: I am writing to offer my sincere thanks to you and your company, Chilean Special Journeys, for contributing to the great success of the Global Interdependence Center’s (GIC) recent four-day conference in Santiago, Chile. Given the stature of the 25 international dignitaries in our GIC delegation, including top officials from central banks in the United States and France as well as CEOs from leading telecommunications and financial markets firms, it was critical for us to have a top notch travel agency “on the ground” in Santiago to attend to our needs. Scott, you and Claudia Valdivia, as well as your experienced drivers and seasoned guides, deserve plaudits for managing the demanding logistics of our fast-paced conference, shuttling us with ease and on time to venues as varied as the Central Bank of Chile, the residence of the US Ambassador in Chile, and the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez. And when unforeseen circumstances emerged, such as the loss of a delegate’s Blackberry, you tracked it down and retrieved it. Perhaps that represents the greatest asset of Chilean Special Journeys. In addition to your expertise and your always reassuring competence, you, Claudia and the rest of your staff, really like your work! Your good spirits and excellent customer service created good will and a pleasant experience for all involved. I’d also like to acknowledge the breadth of your services. In addition to attending to the travel and lodging accommodations for the delegation in Santiago, you organized an excellent side trip to Valparaíso and Viña del Mar. Furthermore, some members of the delegation extended their stay in order to take a “once in a lifetime” excursion to Easter Island. Here again your competence and customer service were top notch. One way that GIC fulfills its mission is by staging high-level international conferences, particularly on issues related to global markets and free trade. Given the stability of Chile and the merits of its economic model, GIC may likely visit Chile again in the not too distant future. And Chilean Special Journeys will be the travel agency we reach out to for our conference needs. Thanks again for everything,

Scott Jones Dear Scott: We did it! Our first international mill tour was a huge success and I could not have done it without you and Claudia. Needless to say, I was anxious as the dates drew near about how everything would come together. The Chilean culture is different from here in the States but you and Claudia were very good in preparing me for my appointments during my planning trip. Not knowing much Spanish also added to my apprehension but again the two of you helped me through that as well. All our work paid off; the guests had nothing but good things to say about the tour from the accommodations and food to the industry tours and attractions. Our guests enjoyed the different accommodations. Some were disappointed we didn’t stay in a more “authentic” hotel in Conception, however, most appreciated the familiarity of the Holiday Inn Express. Plus it worked best for the tour logistically. Plaza San Francisco and Hotel del Mar were both fabulous! The staffs were top notch, the rooms exceeded our expectations and their locations were great for sightseeing. Eduardo made a very good impression upon the guests. His knowledge of Chilean history, economics and politics were extraordinary. Several people remarked how much they enjoyed learning about the culture; it made the trip more meaningful for them. Eduardo’s personality was also a good fit for our group, as he was professional and congenial. Please tell Eduardo that he accomplished his mission: that the people would appreciate and love Chile as he does. They do! I sincerely hope that I have the pleasure of working with you and Claudia again. Your personal service went beyond all expectations and for that I can’t thank you enough. Please feel free to refer potential clients to me. Anyone planning a group tour should take advantage of your services. Warmest regards,
Paula Siewert, CAE Executive Vice President |
